Established in 1992, the World Confederation of Billiards Sports (WCBS) serves as the international governing body representing Carom, Pool and Snooker. Today, WCBS continues to promote the growth, development and global visibility of cue sports across all major disciplines.
IBSF (International Billiards & Snooker Federation)
History & Legacy:
The International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) is the world governing body for Snooker and English Billiards. Formed in 1973, the federation oversees international competition and works with member nations to develop and promote both disciplines worldwide.
For decades, IBSF has been instrumental in preserving the heritage of cue sports while creating pathways for athletes to compete on the global stage.
WPA (World Pool Association)
History & Legacy:
Founded in 1987, the World Pool Association (WPA) is the internationally recognised governing body for pool disciplines. The organisation establishes international standards, sanctions major championships and supports the development of pool through its global network of member federations.
Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB)
The international governing body for Carom Billiards, overseeing major disciplines such as Three-Cushion and supporting the sport’s development at the global level.
BSFI (Billiards & Snooker Federation of India)
History & Legacy:
Founded in 1926, the Billiards & Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) celebrates its centenary in 2026, marking 100 years of organised cue sports governance in India.
As the national governing body for billiards and snooker, BSFI has played a pivotal role in developing generations of champions and strengthening India's position within international cue sports.
Gujarat State Billiards Association (GSBA)
The state-level body governing and promoting billiards, snooker and pool in Gujarat, organising official state championships and ranking tournaments.
